Coupon Queen Wannabe

So, thanks to my Sis and girlfriends, Kim and Sara, I am really trying to save money and use lots of coupons. I just started this, but after looking at several blogs and buying the Sunday paper, I went to Walgreens and had my first cool experience as a couponer. So, the above items came to approximately $67. After I used my coupons and included my register rewards, I only ended up paying $11.87. And $5 was for the make-up that Haley "needed" that wasn't on sale. Pretty good, huh? I am going to post some of the better coupon blogs on here soon.

Surprises from Adelyn!!

So, here is my cute little slugger Adelyn. She really loves sports and was having a great time when softball season rolled around. She was a little nervous when we played catch, but I figured she just needed to get more used to it. She seemed to really love batting and I even took her to the batting cages to practice. She always hesitated right when the ball shot out, but I told her to keep working on it and not to be scared of the ball and she would do great.

Well, her first two games came. The first game, she was only up once and she struck out. Before the second game, we practiced lots, and she had two great hits down the first base line...meaning she was swinging a little late, but it was all good.

After the second game, I took the girls in for their annual eye exam. Haley has glasses, but Adelyn was 20/20 at her exam last year. Long story short, Adelyn is now 20/80. The doctor said she couldn't believe Adelyn ever hit the ball at all. I couldn't believe that she could change that drastically that quick.
So, here is my cutie in her new glasses. She just had her third game, and on the first pitch had a great hit down the third base line. The coach was pretty surprised. Adelyn said that she can't believe how clear everything is now. She thought the trees were supposed to be a little fuzzy, but now they look great!!

Haley as Gertrude in Seussical

So Haley was a lead in the musical Seussical. She was Gertrude and was absolutely amazing. She is loving the theater and can't wait to find out what the plays will be for next year. She also has some chops on her which I only wish I had. ;-)

New Book Obsession

Well...I have a new series addiction. And it comes really close to that of Twilight. The first book is called Poison Study. It is so original and filled with twists and turns with lots of action and of course a little romance. The second book is Magic Study and the third is Fire Study which I am waiting patiently on the library to get in. I think I may have to buy it. The best thing is that you don't have to wait for a new release and you can read all three in a row. Please tell me what you think after you read it. I will be interested in knowing if you love it too.

Grease is the Word!

Haley is going to be in Grease the musical on April 30 and May 1. It is going to be lots of fun and she is really excited about it.

Foster Care License

Hey Everyone! I actually have important news for friends and family. Steven and I just got our Temporary Foster Care License in the mail. This means that we will start having foster kids. We are doing our final home inspection next week and will then get our permanent license. We are nervous but really excited!!

Okay...Okay...Okay. I am so sorry for not posting for the past couple of months. I promise I will get my act together and put some good stuff on my blog. Just be patient with me. ;-)
